Making it easier to cook a hot meal each day is a crucial part of ensuring older people living independently get the nourishment they need. And at Oakhouse, we want to make sure our ready meals provide an easy-to-prepare, nutritious option for those who feel less able to cook for themselves.
Satisfying meals that support good health
Our ready meals are nutritionally balanced, making it easer for customers to manage their diets and we offer many dishes that fit into one or more of the most common dietary requirements.
We also offer vegan and vegetarian ready meals, as well as a wide selection of Mini Meals in a smaller portion size of around 240g. These are a useful way of encouraging those with a reduced appetite to eat more, as they are much less daunting than full-sized portions.
Clear dietary guides for making informed choices
We’re committed to providing our customers with the information they need to choose meals that are right for their diets. We use the following dietary symbols to make things easy for people as they browse our range:
- Low sugar – with less than 5g of sugar per 100g
- Low fat – with 3% fat or less per serving
- Low calorie – with less than 400 calories for a main meal, and 200 for a dessert
- Gluten Free
- Low salt – with 0.3g or less per 100g
We also include full nutritional information on each product page of our online shop, as well as on the product packaging.
Go to our PDF resources page to download lists of meals tailored to different diets, along with a detailed nutritional summary of our entire range. This is also available as a printed leaflet – if you’d like a copy, just ask.
