Special diets

Meals are a crucial part of a person's wellbeing and at Oakhouse we understand that as people age, dietary requirements can become more complex. Finding meals for someone's individual circumstances can be a challenge, particularly when you also have allergies and intolerances to consider.

Good food should be available to everyone, so whether our customers need help with low fat meals or dairy free dishes, our range includes many options for those with allergies or intolerances to certain ingredients – all prepared with care for total peace of mind. We've made it simple to find and choose from these dishes too, thanks to our handy dietary tool, clear dietary symbols and downloadable Free From lists.

Gluten free ready meals

Coeliacs and people with gluten intolerance will find over 70 gluten free ready meals and desserts to enjoy in our range, meaning more choices and more variety. These include main meals such as curries, soups and roast dinners, mini meals, vegetable and potato side portions as well as a selection of desserts. Browse our choice of gluten free dishes.

Diabetic meals

As recent NHS recommendations suggest diabetics should follow a diet that is low in fat, sugar and salt, we no longer have a specific diabetic category of meals. Customers can instead find many low fat and salt options in our range, as well as almost 200 products that contain less than 5g of sugar per 100g. Read more about these meals, including the dietary symbols we use in our brochures and online shop, on our nutritional management page. Browse our full range of low sugar dishes

Free from dairy

We offer over 60 varied options for those following a dairy free diet – all guaranteed not to contain ingredients such as milk, cream, butter, cheese, yoghurt, milk powders, caseinates, lactose and whey. Browse our dairy free dishes

Free from nuts

We offer a number of products that are guaranteed nut free, including vegetable and potato sides, handy pre-cooked jacket potatoes and frozen fruit portions. As nut allergies can be so severe, we cannot guarantee that most of our main meals and desserts are completely nut free, as there may be traces in the environment they’re prepared in. Ingredient intolerances

To help customers avoid certain ingredients, we offer 21 downloadable Free From lists covering common food intolerances such as celery, onion and tomato among many others.
